O alto equil\u00edbrio dos carros fez das provas um sucesso no cen\u00e1rio nacional. Um dos principais momentos do aut\u00f3dromo foi a disputa entre os motociclistas Eddie Lawson e Kevin Schwantz em prova v\u00e1lida pelo campeonato mundial de motovelocidade nas categorias 250 e 500 cilindradas, em 1988.
